John Rubin is running for the Kansas Legislature based on a background of experience that gives him the judgment necessary to make the tough decisions required in Topeka. Combined with his bedrock principles of limited government, fiscal responsiblity, lower taxes, and the right to life, John is the candidate who best represents the values and people of the 18th District. Promote a Vibrant and Competitive Economy

  • Advocate a pro-business fiscal policy to spur economic development
  • Seek permanent across the board cuts in corporate and personal income tax rates, and elimination of taxation on capital gains and dividends, to stimulate business development and investment, job creation, and economic activity, with resultant increases in tax revenues.

Rein in State Spending and Limit the Size of Government
  • Eliminate unnecessary or wasteful state programs
  • Implement zero-based budgeting to ensure justification, accountability and transparency

Support Quality Public Education

  • Establish and maintain local control of school districts budgeting, receipts, and expenditures
  • Ensure that Johnson County education dollars are spent only on Johnson County public schools
  • Maximize the use of education tax dollars for improved student performance while reducing administrative costs
Enforce the Rule of Law
  • Eliminate Kansas taxpayer funding of any non-emergency benefits or services for illegal immigrants
  • Encourage employers to verify the resident status of all their workers, and provide tax incentives for those who do so
